Maggie Thompson of Comics Buyer’s Guide recently announced that comics legend Martin Nodell passed away this past weekend at the age of 91.
Marty was the creator of the Green Lantern character when he was an illustrator at All-American Comics, which would later be absorbed by DC Comics.

Comics writer and historian Mark Evanier writes on his site that “Nodell was very proud of his creation and its longevity.”
Although many fans consider Hal Jordon as the one true Green Lantern, a few true believers understand that it is Martin Nodell and his hero, Alan Scott, that first wielded the ultimate weapon against evil.
