52 - ON THE FRONT LINE
Week 3 of 52 Aaron Duran
Your friendly neighborhood Geek here with the report from the DC Universe front-line.

The plot thickens as Lex Luthor does his best to explain why he shouldn't be thrown in the hoosegow for attempting to kill Batman, Superman, and most of the DC Universe over the past couple of years... All while he was the President of DC's America. In one swift moment and with reluctant aid of Steel, Lex Luthor is able to keep himself at the top of the DC villain heap and make sure Alexander Luthor is dead, dead, dead.
Dead at the hands of pop culture's greatest villain, the Joker.
Black Adam does his best to make sure there is at least one violent and bloody death per issues of 52. If the writers keep up this pace, they will need to dip into Marvel's B and C list villains to maintain the kill rate. However, all my complaints at the more violent DC Universe not withstanding, I do like the path they are placing Black Adam upon.
Booster Gold keeps freaking out as he learns that his future is not the correct future anymore...
While I don't mind them changing the "established" future of the DC Universe... I am curious to see how they ret-con the past without angering every single DC reader out there. Didio keeps maintaining that 52 is the perfect jumping point for new DC readers. I can't see how... The things happening are even taxing this comic book Geek's continuity knowledge. You really want to start reading DC comics and know what is happening? Start with the "One Year Later" titles... Sure, there are a ton of unanswered questions... But, the world makes more sense.
