Wordspeaker Premiere Features Northwest Artists!

(Portland) – April 4, 2008 – The creative team from Heartland Productions will host the premier screening of an indie film short: WORDSPEAKER, a tender noir tale.

The public is invited to join the cast and crew on Friday April 18th, 2008 at 7:30 PM at the Ross Island grocery and café, 3338 SW Corbett Avenue Portland, Oregon 97239. A buffet dinner will be served. Michael Manning and The Carolina Pump Station will play following the screening. $8.00 at the door.

Written and directed by Vancouver’s Dennis Sparks, WORDSPEAKER is a tender noir tale about a radio "shock jock" that rants about the problems of the world and realizes that his biggest enemy is his ego. He later finds himself giving the fevered performance of a life time.

The movie features the talents of northwest artists including editor Dave Hudkins who was recently acclaimed for his performance in Steve Martin’s Picasso at Lapin Agile at Arts Equity Theatre. An aria in the film is performed by local opera soprano Sadie Gregg. Nationally known talk show host Clyde Lewis plays Roger Mad Dog Welles who goes through a catharsis on the air and reveals to all of us where we will end up when we try to be something we truly aren’t. "A fish out of water can’t be expected to act like a fish." Clyde Lewis is the host of the nationally known paranormal program, Ground Zero Radio, which celebrated its 13th year this April.

Check it out tonight at 7:30 PM at the Ross Island grocery and café, 3338 SW Corbett Avenue. Tickets are $8.
