Bigger Than Jesus: THE FLAMETHROWER!

Aaron Duran

Okay, so maybe there isn't a flamethrower. But, I just watched Spaceballs and as I think about how this show has gone from a humble one-man show at an old movie theater with a couple of oversized chairs to a massive performance at a real theatre with a live band, professional lights, sound, and Teamster stage hands... Damn, the little show about a dude and his music has taken a life of its own. Often, the larger and more extravagant a show becomes, the closer it gets to jumping the preverbal shark. Not so with Bigger Than Jesus: The Diary of a Rock and Roll Fan.

On Saturday, December 3rd at Sabala's Mt. Tabor, you'll see that I am right!

Okay, so maybe I am a little biased. While not as invested in the show as some, I can say without hesitation that this little one-man show has been deeply ingrained within my life for over two years. It’s been a helluva time and I've had a blast.

Now it’s your turn.

Check out this list of amazing events that will be crammed into one night of awesomeness:

A screening of never-before-seen footage from the DVD, including scenes from I Was a Teenage Dirtbag.

The live musical styling of Jairus Minsky (the BtJ voice of Ozzy Osbourne) along with his partner in crime, A Man Named Scooter. They'll be performing a custom-picked list of hard-rock classics in their own inimitable fashion, and making the ladies swoon.

The legendary Davey Nipples and the painfully lovely and perfect Storm Large!

The entire cast and crew of Bigger than Jesus will be in attendance, including such luminaries as Sarah X Dylan, Clyde Lewis, 'F Matt Peterson, newsman to the gods Tim Riley, director Joni DeRouchie, Rick "call me Ms. Ross" Emerson, and...um...me!

The Bigger than Jesus house band (who just may be the greatest rock band ever assembled on Gods green Earth) will be giving a special encore performance to close out the party---they'll be laying down a set of full-length songs from the stage play as only they can. Plus...we'll be publicly revealing, for the first time ever, the actual, shocking, true name of the house band.

Finally, you will have your chance to pick up one (or both) copies of the soon to be legendary copies of the greatest damn DVD you'll ever lay your grubby little hands on - Bigger Than Jesus: The Diary of a Rock and Roll Fan: The DVD!!!

When: Saturday - December 3rd - 9pm
Where: Sabala's Mt. Tabor (4811 SE Hawthorne Blvd)
How: Any friggen way you can bitches.

Be there!!!
