Busy Frakking Weekend That Starts… Aaron Duran
…Thursday, April 3, 2008!
First Thursday Extravaganza at the Geek in the City Studios! – Come see all the fantastic work by the Lovely Jenn, Lady Vader, and Vanished Twin Studios! In addition to their great work, you can see many of the talented artists that reside within the Goldsmith Building as they take over the ground floor. It all starts at 6 pm on 4/3/08 & 4/4/08 at 32 NW 5th Avenue and runs till 10pm. Special thanks to Morgan Pasinski for spearheading this event.

Then comes Friday…
Party with a Cosmic Monkey and Hot Roller Derby Ladies! – Come meet the badass ladies of the Rose City Rollers and slightly less badass (but wholly talented) artists behind the 1st issue of True Stories of the Roller Derby. It all happens at Cosmic Monkey Comics on Friday, 6pm to 9pm. Gonna’ be hardcore good times. Then, when this event ends at 9pm, you need to haul ass over to…
Cort and Fatboy’s Midnight Movie – When I say haul ass, I mean it. Not only are they showing Anchorman at 11pm at the glorious Bagdad Theater, they’re gonna’ drop...
Ah yea! Season 4 of Battlestar Galactica! Damn, this is going be a seriously frakking good night. Roller Derby Babes. Comics. Tater Tots. Scotchy-Scotch-Scotch. Cylons. Beer. Anchorman. Then, you only get a few hours to sleep off your drunk before you need to run back to…
The 24-Hour Comic Challenge at Cosmic Monkey Comics! – No, I am not paid by Cosmic Monkey Comics. Can I help it that they have all the sweet events? Starting at 10am on Saturday morning, 24 comic teams will create one page of comic art each hour. Long 24-hours later, we will have one complete comic and some dead on their feet creators and fans. Geek in the City will be there at random times shooting video and keeping you updated. Also, be sure to check the live blogging by Cosmic Monkey and the Top Shelf Comics crew.
Damn, I’m tired from just writing this thing. Gonna’ be a long but fantastic weekend. See you all there and there and there.
