GET OUT OF THE BASEMENT
Busy Weekend! Aaron Duran
Back in my junior year of high school some tool went up to an abandoned foresty service helicopter pad and painted a big ass red pentagram on it. A few days later, the local cops began to snoop around my school looking for those responsible. Can you guess which group was the primary target? You betch'a buddies, it was my fellow gamers and myself. Why? Simple, we played them devil games, and so it just had to be us, by gum! I count myself lucky in that the chief of police was a family friend and he knew that it couldn't have been my friends or myself. Painting crap just wasn't our bag… Jousting on snowmobiles, yes. Graffiti? No. That still didn't change the point that we were suspects to a crime just because of our hobby. We got lucky, but some folks didn't. Which brings me to today's little posting.

Do what you can to make out to Lola’s Room on Saturday night. Not only is it for a great cause, but I am certain it is going to be one hell of a party! Oh yea, and the person who actually painted the pentagram in my lovely God-fearing town? Son of a preacher man, no joke.
He was told, promptly, to never do it again. Bad boy.
If you have some time in the middle of the day, stop on by the grand opening of Portland’s newest game store:
Gamers Guild at 801 SW Highland Drive, Gresham, OR. From 10am to 3pm, you can play all their PC, console, and arcade games for free! And, as if free games and good Geek company wasn’t enough, Portland’s own Dark Side Troopers will be there. Many of you who hung out with your friendly neighborhood Geek at the Revenge of the Sith opening already know who this group is. If you don’t, then you owe it to yourself to stop by the Gamers Guild and check them out! As I am always on the lookout for the next best gaming store, I am very excited to check them out. I’ll have a review of the store first thing Sunday morning.
Until next time, may all your rolls be natural 20s and stay F'ing metal!
