Chapter 7 - Rising Up.

Aaron Duran

First off, I want to let fans of the World Famous Phil Hendrie Show and The Tom Leykis Show know that they have found a new home on Johnson 970 AM. As stated on Rick Emerson’s site, any information regarding other shows riding the Johnson (sorry, couldn’t help it) must be treated like a dirty Ain’t It Cool News style rumor. That being said, we are making some serious waves with the Coffee Cup Crusade. The CCC has earned attention in the Oregonian and will soon see print within the pages of the Vanguard and yet another article within the pages of yet another major Portland paper... details forthcoming. I also wanted to give everyone a long since overdue update on the amount of mugs left at and/or mailed to Entercom Portland...

2038 mugs!!!

All the support and work everyone is putting in is simply stunning. When this is all over and our shows are back on the air take pride in the fact that it was the power of YOU…the fans that made it possible. It will happen! It IS happening!

I’ve had some folks ask me when I will get back to my “normal” writing. First off, I’m completely flattered and a little surprised that folks consider my Geeky rambling “normal”. However, with that in mind I have decided to get back to what made Geek in the City…well, um… Geek in the City… That is, general rambling and observations.

However, I WILL NOT stop in my quest to get our shows back on the air. Geek in the City will still act as a forum for YOU, the FANS to comment and question what is going on in Portland radio! I will also update the site with any and all information I receive.
