Chapter 9 - Message For The Troops

Aaron Duran

First, I want to let folks know that this Friday the Portland Tribune will have an article regarding the recent radio wackiness in our fine city. There is also a rumor that a certain Coffee Cup Crusade will get mentioned… This is all cause of YOU, the fans, who rock more than words can describe… Speaking of which… We have an incoming transmission from the man himself (no, not Bruce Campbell, the OTHER man himself)…

A Message From Rick:

Greetings Starfighters! You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the...

Ah, nevermind.

I just wanted to pop onto Aaron's site for a second to say how much y'all's support means to me, and to everyone associated with the show. It's certainly been a bumpy few weeks for everyone, not least of all YOURSELVES. With the return of Leykis and Hendrie to the dial (Johnson 970), there's a semblance of normalcy for many of the listeners, and less of a sucking void on the radio.

As the recent press coverage (and the postings on this and other blogs) demonstrates, your passion and power cannot be overstated. You are, without a doubt, the most loyal and proactive audience I've ever encountered, and your continued devotion to the show is amazing and flattering beyond words.

As things roll forward, I'll keep you abreast of the situation. In the meantime, we're continuing to post daily best-ofs at www.rickemerson.com, and Tim has a daily podcast running at www.timrileymedia.com (Friday's edition will feature yours truly).

I'm working my way through the email backlog, but for now, just know that your support (both then and now) is the most valuable thing there is. It is never taken for granted.

More news as it happens. Until then...stay tuned (in a manner of speaking), and don't let the bastards grind you down.

/End of Line.
