Faux Fun For All! Aaron Duran
Sorry about the above alliteration, sometimes I can’t help myself. Anyway, that is the best way to introduce you fine readers to Portland’s 2nd annual Faux Film Festival, the only festival of its kind in the world! These talented filmmakers do what most of us Geeks only talk about over our fifth Jack and Coke... Create parodies of our favorite commercials, shows, movies, and the occasional mockumentary thrown in for good measure!
Starting tomorrow night (3/29/06) at Portland’s historic Hollywood Theatre, the Faux Film Festival runs through Sunday, April 2nd. Tickets are $6 per night, which includes two shows (three on Sunday). Not only will you get to visit the stunning Hollywood Theatre, not only will you see some great shorts made by some talented people, but, you can also have your friendly neighborhood Geek serve you some popcorn. I’ll be working the counter Wednesday night, doing my part to help the Indies, you should too.
