J.J. Abrams reveals that his upcoming monster movie, the trailer of which premiered with Transformers on July 4, was inspired by a visit to Japan, and his son's penchant for the Godzilla toys that still clutter store shelves there. America needs its monster movie, he asserted about his film, the title of which has yet to be revealed.
Live from the set of the next Indiana Jones film, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford revealed that Karen Allen will reprise her role as Marion Ravenwood from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Abrams confirmed that Zachary Quinto from NBC's Heroes will play Spock in the forthcoming Star Trek prequel, to be released Christmas 2008. Also, in an unexpected annoucement, Leonard Nimoy will reprise his famous Vulcan role; the storyline is still a secret, but both Spocks took the stage to promote the movie, which is 18 months away.
Gene Roddenberry's son, "Rodd," gave the thumbs up to CBS' release of Star Trek (the original series) in HD, complete with updated special effects, including the exciting "Gorn blink." Also included is a virtual external tour of the NCC-1701 via a viewer controlled Gallileo shuttlecraft!
