2007 HAUNTS
Invisible Jets and Bullet-Proof Bracelets! Aaron Duran
Just because this is the spooky time of the year doesn't mean we can't have some heroics now and then. Indeed, this is one of the rare times of the year when you can strap on some stars and stripes pasties, red boots, and a golden lasso and no one will question you. Well, they'd probably question me, but you get the point.
If you do love all things Wonder Woman, then you'll be pleased to learn that October 28th is Portland's official Wonder Woman Day, as decreed by Mayor Tom Potter in 2006. (See, he can make decisions without storming out of the council chamber). Anyway, today from 1pm to 6pm at Excalibur Comics in SE Portland, Wonder Woman and comics fans the world over will come to celebrate everyones favorite Amazonian Princess. In addition to all the fabulous Wonder Woman artifacts, there will be a silent art auction from some of the most talented artists today. Plus, current Wonder Woman scribe Gail Simone will be in attendance as well as artist / writer Phil Jimenez and Anne Timmons. Admission is free and all proceeds benefit the Raphael House, Bradley-Angle House, and Portland Women's Crisis Line . Learn more at www.wonderwomanmuseum.com
