WHAT TO DO IN PORTLAND
More Monkeys! Aaron Duran
 Long time readers will remember, back in the Blogger white 'n orange days of Geek in the City, one of the first shops I profiled was Comic Monkey Comics. For many a day after I would receive emails from very happy customers who were all too pleased to support a new comic shop... Perfectly lined from floor to ceiling in comic swag and had the memory inducing scent of a 1930s pulp novel. The place simply felt right... If there was one "complaint", it was those who lacked transportation were hard pressed to arrive at Cosmic Monkey Comic’s location at 10227 NE Clackamas.
Well, you folks don’t have any more excuses!
Cosmic Monkey Comics has recently opened their second shop on 5335 NE Sandy Boulevard, smack dab next to The Bike Gallery... And even more convenient, sitting on one of Portland’s faster bus lines. To coin Lee Majors, the new Cosmic Monkey Comics is bigger, faster, geekier! Just like it older, smaller cousin, this new Monkey is stocked to the nines with comic swag and staffed with friend folks who live and breathe the items they sell. They aren't going to push a title because Diamond or Joe Quesada says they should...
While I have the mad love for my local shop... I got a feeling I will be pulling up roots and hanging with the monkeys... You should to!
