That being a Reminder and a Request!

First, the Reminder – Saturday night, February 23, 2008 – The 1st Annual Film Fever Radio Movie Awards kicks off at 8pm at Sam's Billiards in gorgeous NE Portland F'ing Oregon! There will be prizes, games, tests of Geek skilz, special guests, and glorious beer... Remember, only one movie award show has real talent and and fake awards... The Film Fever Radio Movie Awards... Like the Oscars, but with 100% less Bruce Vilance!

Next, the Request*. We all love live and local radio, right? I know this is true, I've got an entire section of Geek in the City that proves said love. Well, it is time to prove that love again. (No, not another unpleasantness, relax, put down your coffee cups). No, this is a simple request. Since you read this fine site I know you love the “mediocrity” that is the Mighty Cort and Fatboy . And, since you are all intelligent and tech savvy readers, you already run the Cort and Fatboy podcast directly into your media player of choice. Well, men in ties and smelling of Sex Panther aren't all that tech savvy. Their “shoot for the edit” sized attention span can only process so much. As such, when they see “low download numbers” for our favorite night DJs, they believe people aren't listening. Yes, they ignore the RSS feed numbers (i.e., guaranteed listeners) and are likely confused by bandwidth usage as well. So, basically what I am asking is this. If you love the Mighty Cort and Fatboy (and I know you do), stop using the RSS feed and download the show directly at www.cortandfatboy.com . (Okay, you can keep the feed, but download the show as well...So the sales monkeys have their numbers). Remember, if you don't download... Larry the Cable Guys wins! Thank you.
