Changes for 2006

Aaron Duran

Ah, the New Year rolls in and I still have complete use of my bodily functions, been a while since I could say that. Perhaps that means your friendly neighborhood Geek is growing up a bit and is taking life a wee more seriously; but probably not. However, that does not mean I can’t try to take steps to make this world a little better...Or, at least better for my fellow Geeks:

In an attempt to aid my fellow Geeks, regardless of age or gender, I shall finish or give the proper reply to any film and/or television line for them. As such, no longer will they have to stand alone in a sea of pop culture philistines. I too will share the burden of the strange looks that often accompany said movie quoting experience. Next time you are testing the freshness of the deli fried chicken at Fred Meyer and you catch yourself humming Putting on the Ritz and from beyond yonder beer aisle you hear a slurry "Sooper Dooper", that would be me. You’re welcome.

When creating the next and all other subsequent gaming adventures I promise to stop gleefully chuckling as I design yet another way to painfully and most egregiously end the life of my players’ characters. Imagining their faces as the dread Death Knight rips their PC souls and shoves them into the depths of the deepest layers of the abyss to be nothing more than beast fodder for the dark queen who rules from...Ahem... Sorry, guess I will have to work on that one.

Make Geek in the City the most powerful pop culture weapon in the known universe. Okay, that one is a tad egotistical. However, a strong Geek in the City means a Master Chief on every corner, natural 20s for players, and a low cost Starfleet Academy education for all... Or something.

I will try to cut back on rants, both live and on this very site, that end with: Screw you Brannon Braga! Die! Die! You killed my Trek, DIE!!! (Good thing I am writing this now, as had I typed these words yesterday, I would have already broken this one).

Finally... Continue to provide all you fine readers the best content possible. I, and the other GitC writers, are still humbled that you choose this little web page for your daily (or semi-daily) pop culture randomness. Thank you all!
