FROM THE PEN OF THE MASTER GEEK
Spirited Spirits Aaron Duran
As I've said before, this time of year is my favorite. I love the weather, I love the sights, I love the smells, I love the spooky tales, and I love the creepy cocktails... And so, your friendly neighborhood Geek thought he would share the love, (and, he's again to busy to write a real article, and he is strangly speaking in the third person).
Enjoy! Voodoo Daiquiri
2 oz. Bourbon
1 oz. Everclear or Vodka
4 oz. Grape Juice
1 cup Crushed ice
Combine Bourbon, Vodka, grape juice and ice into a blender and blend at a medium speed until smooth (15 to 25 seconds). Pour into a chilled hi-ball or Collins glass. Should be served in a plastic cup while in the French Quarter.
Brain Hemmorage
1 oz. Peach Schnapps
1 tsp. Bailey's Irish Cream
2 drops Grenadine
Pour the Peach Schnapps into a large shot glass. Slowly add the Bailey's and top with the grenadine.
Devil’s Poison
1 oz. Jack Daniels
1 oz. 151 Bacardi Rum
Fill a shaker with ice, pour the Jack Daniels and 151 Bacardi Rum into shaker and shake. Strain into a shot glass.
Santo's Sangria
2 bottles red wine, preferably Castille del Diablo or Sanguine del Toro.
3 Tbsp lime juice
1 lemon, in wedges
1/4 lbs crushed red grapes
1 cup Triple Sec
1 orange, in thin slices
2 Tbsp unrefined sugar
1/2 cup brandy
4 shots Spice Rum
1 tsp Habenero peppers
Let sit in fridge over night. Strain, serve, pass out. Ole!
